Personal profile

About

Dr. Jamie Lipton is a quadruple board certified physician and a former Deputy Chief of the U.S. Navy Medical Corps.

He authored BUMEDINSTR6300.11 which ordered the practice of osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) in the military, overturning years of discrimination and spreading OMM across the military branches. This accomplishment was placed on the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) timeline. He served three of his 24 years in the Navy with the U.S. Navy SEALS, and served as the Specialty Leader to the Surgeon General of the Navy as well as caring for the Surgeon General of the Navy's family.

Dr. Lipton retired from the Navy in 2005 and has had three upwardly mobile private practices since. He then served over nine years in practice in Veterans Affairs.

Dr. Lipton has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine and has co-authored three Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine textbook chapters. His extensive research and National Clearinghouse Guideline publications are quoted across numerous chapters in the National Text as the basis for justifying the efficacy of OMM.

He has named a newly discovered tissue in the human body and formulated the Unified Field Theory which has had an entire convention dedicated to its study.

Dr. Lipton is one of one with his credentials in the world and comes to the Department of OMM to help carry out the vision set forth by PCOM.
