About

Dr. Galluzzi is Professor and Chair of the Department of Geriatrics and Director of Comprehensive Care at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine; she is the Medical Director of PCOM Clinical Research Center and Medical Director of the Residentialist Group of home care providers in Philadelphia. Board certified in Geriatrics, Family Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Pain Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care, she is a Certified Medical Director through the American Medical Directors Association.

Dr. Galluzzi is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (local area agency on aging), a member of the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, and is a distinguished fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Physicians (ACOFP). A Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, Past President of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society (POFPS), and former President of the Eastern Pennsylvania Geriatrics Society, she chaired the AOA Council on Palliative Care Issues.

Dr. Galluzzi received the 2014 Outstanding Female Leader Award from the ACOFP and 1996 Frederick J. Solomon, DO, Award of Merit. In 2018 she received the Grace W. Harrison Award for distinguished service in the field of Long Term Care and was the 2005 recipient of the Barbara Bell, MD, Award for distinguished service in the field of geriatric medicine from the Eastern Pennsylvania Geriatrics Society. She has authored several book chapters on pain and geriatric topics and has numerous publications. She is an active member of local and national organizations/committees and is a seasoned national speaker on geriatric topics such as health promotion and disease prevention, screening, dementia, pain and palliative care.

Dr. Galluzzi’s research interests mirror her clinical role: dementia, geriatric function, health promotion/disease prevention and the role of medical cannabis in pain and quality of life.
