About
A 1975 graduate of Drexel University, Dr. Ehrenfeuchter (affectionately called “Dr E”) attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning his D.O. degree in 1979. He then served as the first resident in the history of the profession in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
Dr. E completed the requirements for Fellowship in the American Academy of Osteopathy (FAAO) in 1990 and was Board Certified in that same year. The FAAO is one of the few earned fellowships in medicine.
Ehrenfeuchter taught for 25 years in the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at the Philadelphia Campus of PCOM before moving to Georgia in 2005. He was Professor and Director of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at the Georgia Campus of PCOM.
Dr. E serves as the principal author of five chapters in Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine, a widely used osteopathic medical textbook. He served on a number of national committees for the American Academy of Osteopathy, the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and the Educational Council on Osteopathic Principles, as well as the Deutsch-Americanishe Akademie fuer Osteopathie (German-American Academy of Osteopathy).
Despite all the academic positions that he has held, Dr. E thinks of himself primarily as a clinician, actively involved in patient care, who just happens to teach.
